Sands, MI - Three drivers all amongst star studded fields, were able to shine on Sunday afternoon at Thunder Valley Raceway.

Jared Patz would finish fifth respectively in both his heat race as well as his feature race. Patz was able to slide out of Sands with two top five finishes. Jared has begun to quickly shed that rookie status that possibly wasn’t deserving in the first place.

Jeff Dehanke was able to keep the pace and continue his quest to eat some points away from the contenders. Jeff’s smooth driving has been an inspiration to many. We here at WiddisRacing.com are all excited at his terrific jump into the higher class. He continues to show his class every single race weekend.

Widdis began his day with an extremely close heat race. He would steal the lead away from Tom Dubord on the seventh lap of the twelve lap race. He would lose his lead on the last lap to Dubord, but would spring back and literally steal the win away by only a bumper. Widdis wouldn’t have as much luck in the feature race. He began the race in typically Widdis fashion from the back nipping at the heels of his contenders. Toward the end of the race Widdis would spin out, but quickly regain his composure without sending a yellow flag flying. With some great racing toward the end Allen Yelle would finish on top being the first to see the checkered flag fly. We would like to congratulate Allen on his exciting win!
