Manistique, MI - There is a lot of new and exciting news out of the Widdis Racing garage. With the new season starting today Saturday May 15, 2004, a lot of information needs to be updated.

First off, the Widdis Racing team has signed two new sponsors for the 2004 racing season. Holiday Helpers and Upper Crust of Manistique have recently joined the team. All but one of the sponsors from last year will be returning to assist the team in hopefully winning another track championship!

The Widdis' are having another trailer built by Pete Parker of Reliable Welding in Shawano, Wisconsin. Boyd Widdis' Monte Carlo will harbor a 355 Cubic Inch Chevy motor while Bret Widdis' Pontiac Grand Prix will hold a 358 Cubic Inch Chevy motor.

It was recently reported that Boyd Widdis will only run his Monte Carlo at Thunder Valley Raceway. In a candid interview in the Widdis Racing garage, Bret commented on his father's arrival at Sands. "If you would have told me last year that I would be once again racing against my father I would have told you that you were crazy! I know he can't wait to get behind the wheel of his Monte Carlo to show us that he still has it!" When asked about his father possibly running against him for the championship Bret replied, "There is only one person that I would want to win the championship over myself, and that would be my father!"

The first race at Thunder Valley Raceway is Sunday May 23, 2004. Make sure you are able to attend the opening race at TVR. Admission to the first race is half-price. This is just one more reason why you should all come out and watch the Widdis' start yet another season in Sands, Michigan.
